Madrid is world known capital for many reasons, but it’s specially beautiful during Christmas, were you can see it’s amazing lights or enjoy and participate in famous events such as the new years eve in Puerta del Sol.

As the most popular and appreciated among locals and tourists we have the Christmas lighting, which varies and improves year after year, thanks to the work and motivation of the Madrid City Council to acclimate and, above all, “beautify” the iconic streets of the historic center (streets as Gran Vía, calle Mayor or calle Alcalá are the most notable). It should also be noted the luminous nativity scenes arranged at Puerta de Alcalá, Puerta Toledo and San Vicente.

For bike lovers, were in Rent & Roll, we offer a bicycle Tour which takes you through the streets with the most beautiful Christmas lights so you can also enjoy Madrid during this special time of the year.

Plaza Mayor is already impressive and attracts many people during the year, but it has a special “light” during Christmas with its market. A market that first started in the beginning of the 19th century and it´s now a tradition every year. What can we find in this market? Well, mostly Christmas and holiday items such as toys, costumes, Christmas decorations, joke or party items, etc. You can’t miss it!

Just a few meters from the Plaza Mayor, you have San Ginés Passage, where you will find the famous and traditional San Ginés Chocolatería, which first open in 1894. In there we can find the typical and famous breakfast of Madrid, “Churros with Chocolate”. A treat, that during this time it’s even better to start the day with. “San Ginés Chocolatería” is the most famous and oldest in the city and possibly in the country. Without a doubt, an must do in Madrid.

The city also have among its activities the famous Cortylandia, a show carried out by “El Corte Inglés” in calle Preciados which offers different shows year after year; the “Price” circus in Ronda de Atocha, a circus without animals in it’s show that delights children and adults; and, of course, the traditional and most acclaimed: The 3 wise man, a parede with a series of decorated cars led by the Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar with many surprises during its march . The ride begins its journey in the Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz passing through the Paseo de la Castellana until it ends in the Plaza de Cibeles with the traditional Message from the 3 Wise Man.
